30 Lb Dumbbell Pair
Hex Dumbbells (30 Lb Dumbbell Pair): A Customer Review
I have been looking for hex dumbbells, a 30 lb dumbbell pair, which I can use for my workout. Several months ago, I started trying to lose weight by signing up for a lifetime membership with the gym located several blocks away. I tried my best to make time to go there, using the treadmill for cardio exercise and also the hex dumbbells for a little weight training. After a few weeks, although I weighed just a few pounds less, I actually felt much slimmer, with my waistline showing a lot of improvement.
Of course, having more muscle in my body meant that I was going to “gain” more weight, but it also meant I would have less fat in my body, which meant I looked fit and not at all overweight. Now, I still try to continue with my cardio and weight training but I couldn’t keep up because I had to get out of the office late at night. I then decided to purchase my own treadmill and also to invest in my own dumbbells.
I knew that purchasing a set of different hex dumbbells would cost me more than I set aside for it, and I know that adjustable dumbbells are way more expensive although they do offer more in terms of the range of weights. My brother gave me a set of lighter weights last Christmas, including a pair of 3 pound dumbbells, 5 pound dumbbells, and 10 pound dumbbells. They would be great for toning, but I needed heavier dumbbells for adding muscle bulk. I then decided to add to this collection of hex dumbbells by purchasing a 30 lb dumbbell pair. 30 lb dumbbells would be great for adding more bulk to my arms, chest, and shoulders, so I decided to go online and order a 30 lb dumbbell pair through an online store.
The 30 lb dumbbell pair I purchased is a pair of rubber coated hex dumbbells weighing 30 lbs each. They cost $80 per dumbbell set but of course, the prices would be different depending on where you buy them. Since each rubber coated hex dumbbell weighed 30 pounds, the set weighed 60 lbs total. The rubber coating helps prevent damage to tiles and floors, which makes it ideal for me as my floorboards are made of wood and would have been easily damaged by a chromed steel 30 lb dumbbell pair not coated in rubber. And since my 30 lb dumbbell pair has a hex design, it doesn’t roll on the floor and stays right where I put it down on the floor. It is made of solid cast iron and doesn’t have spare parts unlike adjustable dumbbells, so I expect it to be much more durable. I wouldn’t be surprised if it lasts a lifetime.
I don’t like how adjustable dumbbells rattle. Their weight plates, since they are detachable, seem to move around even as you use the dumbbells. I honestly can’t help but imagine them falling apart and falling on my feet whenever they rattle. I just knew that getting a 30 lb dumbbell pair that isn’t adjustable is just the right choice for me. My 30 lb dumbbell pair, which are rubber coated hex dumbbells, look presentable and seem to be manufactured well. They have no odd odor as some hex dumbbells coated in rubber, so I’m quite happy with my purchase. However, the 30 lb dumbbell pair was coated in oil. They didn’t smell but it made the 30 lb dumbbell pair a little sticky. All I did was wash off the oil from the 30 lb dumbbell pair with some powdered soap and detergent, and that eventually solved the problem. More importantly, because the 30 lb dumbbell pair don’t jiggle and rattle, they look very sturdy and I can lift them above my head without the fear of any spare part falling on my head.
Out of 5 stars, I give my 30 lb dumbbell pair about 4 stars. These rubber coated hex dumbbells were a little more expensive than other dumbbell pairs, but given their quality, I believe the 30 lb dumbbell pair was worth the price.
